Smart Design helped bring Aerohive’s newest technology to market. Their WiFi system provides the benefits of a controller-based wireless LAN solution without requiring a controller or an overlay network. It needed to be housed in a form that promoted its benefits to the user while maintaining high functionality. Multiple units needed to feel visually connected when positioned in a group, thus the “hive” terminology.
The HiveAP unit mounts to the walls and ceiling of hospitals, schools, and offices – anywhere a robust wireless infrastructure is needed. The design is minimal and unobtrusive, blending into its environment. The corner of the unit is cut away, revealing the technology layers inside. The LED-light strips inform an IT specialist about the status of each line or when there is an error.
