They say technology killed the need for books. Well, I say that’s never going to happen.
There’s something incredibly soothing about the smell of the pages of a newly-opened book. It’s something that’s symbolic of a new adventure. I hear a lot of people saying that they feel this separation anxiety whenever they finish a novel, mostly because they immediately miss the characters they have learned to love. They miss going through every scene with each of these characters. They miss guessing and hanging on to what’s going to happen next.
The crisp sound of pages being turned also signifies learning. Aren’t you always curious about what small tidbit you’re going to learn each time you open a book? It doesn’t even matter if it’s something incredibly life-changing like a life verse or a daily mantra, or some random trivia that will not even change your life. No matter how big or small the learning is, there WILL always be something for you to pick up in every book you read.
And let’s not even forget about how books trigger your thoughts in the same way gasoline makes your engine run. Agree with everything the writer says, and your thoughts are immediately filled with the endless possibilities of every idea and concept presented. Disagree, and you’ll think of a million different arguments that will support your cause.
Simply put, books will never die. The purpose of books will never change. And the effect that books have on people’s lives will never falter.
Take a peek at these images and savor the emotions that every book you’ve ever read has stirred. Think about the books that have made the most impact in your lives. You can even try to remember the characters you’ve met along the way as you leaf through the pages of different books you’ve read in the past. These images can bring back those emotions and more.
Use these images to show your love for books. Use them for your website, or for your own personal blog. Use them as part of a project, or as a piece of art you want to display. It doesn’t really matter. No matter what use you find for them, one thing is for sure – every person who comes across it will start reminiscing about all the books they loved and the experiences and knowledge they have gained from all of it.
